Catching Up With … Lost in the Gym
Jun 2011 27
*In light of Kollaboration Atlanta’s pending 5th-year anniversary, we’ll be taking a look back to see where previous performers are today in their artistic endeavors. Today’s featured Kollaboration Atlanta alum and recent guest performer at Kollaboration ATL 4: Sam Cho from  Lost in the Gym.

Q: So, what has Lost in the Gym been up to since their winning Kollaboration Atlanta performance in 2010?
A: Since winning Kollaboration last year, we have been performing at different events and venues. Also, we have been competing in battles around Atlanta, Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee. A couple of us have also been pursuing other projects in film and music.

Q: How many members does the group currently have? Do you guys have a recruitment process? How does it work?
A: We currently have 12 members. As of right now, we are not looking for any new members but our recruitment process goes as follows: When we find someone who we feel mixes well and brings good energy to the group, we put them on a trial run and seem them in battles. Then when the time comes where we want the person to join our crew, the b-boy/b-girl has to battle against all of us one round each at one time.

Q: What did you guys end up doing with the grand prize check?
A: The grand prize was actually spent rather quickly, haha. I know most of us used it to pay some bills, or for our own personal use. I myself actually used it to pay some bills off, haha.

Q: What’s the next step for Lost in the Gym? Any future performances/shows lined up?
A: The next step for us would be to continue to do performances. Right now I teach breakdancing at GSU, no experience is required to sign up for the class. A majority of our crew members love battling. There is actually a 2 vs. 2 this Saturday off Beaver Ruin [Road]. We have a couple more battles coming up that we are preparing for, but in the end we love to dance. We’re all family so we hope to be able to stick together and continue to do what we love where ever life takes us.
