*Over the next few days, Kollaboration ATL 4 will be releasing exclusive interviews + videos of the performances from this year’s event. Check back or subscribe to our Facebook page to keep updated! Posts will be released in the order of the show’s program. Today’s featured competitor: Band Absolute.
As a fixture within the international student community at Emory University, the South Korean members of Band Absolute have grown used to performing live in front of sizable audiences. Having performed and placed at events such as Emory’s Got Talent (1st), Korean Culture Night, and China Care Concert, the band brought their newly cultivated experience to Center Stage on March 26 as they performed an amazing cover/mash-up of songs by Jeff Buckley and Paramore — both entitled “Hallelujah” — to the tune of the band’s creativity.
The band operates in “generations” by holding auditions at the beginning of the school year for new members to join and replace veterans who have graduated. This year, Haesol Won (vocal), Jae Il Hwang (electric guitar), Ju Hyun Suh (electric guitar), Sung Whan Jeon (electric guitar), Yeon Hee Song (drums) and Yoon Jeong (bass) comprised the 2nd generation of Band Absolute to carry on the legacy of the alumni who established the band in spring of 2009.
